Here is my prediction for Snow Leopard Apple’s next release of their operating system. Snow Leopard will be very inexpensive or FREE. Here is why:

1. Snow Leopard is expected to be a speed and stability release. Don’t expect any breakthrough features like Spaces or Time Machine. So how can they really expect people to purchase a new OS that only includes performance features they should have done anyways.
   
2. Apple is getting away from using optical media (CD’s and DVD’s), probably for the fact that they use oil and they are also shipping bits and bytes in a box to a store. I noticed this during Macworld 2008 when the Macbook Air was released, they didn’t included an optical drive. They suggested you share an optical drive with another PC to install software from a CD or DVD. For movies they suggested using the iTunes movie store for watching your flicks.

Apple will likely distribute the new OS via the iTunes stores. They might even go one step further and rename the store since it more than just music these days. Just a few predictions, bookmark and refer to this post after Macworld 09.
